In 2022, more than 120 artists, 11 stages and 2,000 workers exalted the Fraga meeting as a unique experience, beyond the musical. Monegros Desert Festival returned renewed, selling out with figures and a staging never seen to date in our country. Twenty-two hours of music spread over eleven themed stages.
This year, exactly on July 29, Monegros Desert Festival returns to celebrate, neither more nor less, its thirty years of existence. A thirtieth anniversary that promises to be unforgettable again and guarantees to preserve the R.A.V.E concept, add new stages, technological and creative innovations, as well as operational improvements compared to 2022. All extraordinary audiovisual and sound machinery.
"Throughout these 30 years, at Monegros we have wanted to evolve in creativity and technology to such an extent that it is not just that festival where you can listen to your favorite artists, but rather, that place where you can live unparalleled and unforgettable experiences," he says. Juan Arnau Jr.
On the occasion of this great celebration, the founders of this ephemeral city that appears and disappears in just 22 hours, promise to offer their fans an indelible memory for the rest of their days. Among the novelties, they reveal that the construction of the largest art installation in the form of a stage that attendees have ever seen will be carried out.
"Monegros Desert Festival is a festival that requires a lot of effort, passion and dedication. We have worked for a whole year creating gigantic stages, impossible sets and immersive scenery. Anyone who joins us to celebrate our thirtieth anniversary with our family will not miss will never forget", adds Juan Arnau Jr.
If we talk about music and, taking into account the infinite and varied list of confirmed artists, we can already affirm that the desert will roar again with techno as its first protagonist, but without forgetting urban genres such as hip hop, drum n bass , dub, house and even a touch of disco. In addition, the most extreme, raw and tense sounds will also have a wide representation.
Kicking off the list of confirmed artists and, for the first time in the Monegros desert, the rap legend WU TANG CLAN; The entire RZA group, which will be on a European tour this summer, has chosen Monegros as the location for their only show in Spain.
The Australian electronic rock and drum and bass collective Pendulum in Live format, the Spanish hip hop star Fernando Costa, the Navarran duo Iseo & Dodosound or the Madrid rap tandem, Ill Pekeño & Ergo Pro, also stand out as confirmed bands from an infinite sign.
Techno in all its versions is a key ingredient on the menu of this party with R.A.V.E format. Representing the toughest side, we find the Blackworks label, which will land in Monegrino sand with its heaviest artillery. The teachers 999999999, Charlie Sparks, Parfait, Dexphase, Nico Moreno, SNTS and Paula Temple, promise to raise a lot of dust.
The Swedish label Drumcode, led by Adam Beyer, bets on a softer techno and presents a stellar line-up for a very special occasion. Michael Bibi, Kölsch, Kevin De Vries, Anna, Sama´Abdulhadi, Ilario Alicante and Juliet Fox will accompany Beyer on this twenty-hour odyssey. Both Blackworks and Drumcode will have a very representative role in this edition of Monegros, since for both it will be their only appearance at Spanish festivals this summer.
To understand the greatness of Monegros you only have to walk through its more than 80,000 m² and dance to the different sounds that this experience offers. House, tech-house and disco also have their space in Monegrío territory. The most flowing and groovy hip-busting sets arrive in the desert thanks to figures like Jeremy Underground, Dan Shake, Seth Troxler, Anetha, Mochakk, Carlita, Vintage Culture or Sally C.
"Monegros is a multicultural festival and although its backbone is techno, other styles such as reggae or drum n bass also have a place. We are very happy to be able to represent all these sounds in a single day, in the middle of the desert, so that people enjoy an extreme but incomparable experience", explains the musical director of the festival, Victor de la Serna.
Last but not least, Monegros will have the presence of some of the leading artists in our country such as Paco Osuna, Oscar Mulero, Héctor Oaks or Andrés Campo, among many others yet to be revealed.
