Azzecca – I’ve Been Waiting (Ida Endberg Remix) [Higher Ground]

Following the recent success of the original, Chicago-based DJ/producer Azzecca passes the reigns to the talented Swedish techno DJ and producer Ida Engberg for a heavy and masterful remix of ‘I’ve Been Waiting’. Ida Engberg has amassed an impresssive following as a DJ, but rarely releases music of her own. The collaboration marks an important moment for Azzecca, not only given Engberg’s influence in the scene, but also because of the commonalities they share as two female DJs who went on to produce their own tracks.

Thumping and growling, Ida Engberg’s version of ‘I’ve Been Waiting’ is a fierce and heavy record. By taking the vocals and swirling them through the track subtly and strategically, the atmosphere changes completely. Eerie synths bellowing in the background creep up on us, expanding and contracting, making this remix a true, late-night banger.
