Headkube – Polar Lights EP [Release]
Talented producer and multi-instrumentalist Headkube is proud to present his brand-new ‘Polar Lights EP‘ on Third Party’s Release Records label. The Turin-born maestro, who has played piano, drums, and guitar since he was a child, showcases his dynamic diversity across the release, following on from his popular single ‘Rainfall’ on Release Records earlier this year.
Listing label bosses Third Party as one of his biggest musical influences, alongside acts such as deadmau5, Justice, The Chemical Brothers, Eric Prydz, Cristoph, and ARTBAT, the Italian – who has gained support from the likes of Above & Beyond, and Armin van Buuren in his career to date – discovered the world of electronic music when playing with launchpads and controllers, and has since experimented with different varieties of synthesizers and audio processors as he continues to hone his craft in the studio, sculpting his sounds to merge between techno and progressive styles.
Pairing his powerful production prowess with a deep melody and a variety of progressive elements which make up the Release Records signature sound, Headkube utilises strong retro-sounds on opener ‘Bajee’, filling the anthem with high-octane electronic blips, before launching into the digital-sounding ‘Lunaar’, laced with arguably the biggest build-up of the EP. Channeling his darker side with the pulsating energy of ‘Polar Lights’ – which is topped with an up-tempo breakdown – Headkube rounds off the EP by tapping into his inner-Prydz on ‘Suitcase Layer’.
