Cypherpunx’s Party Playlist
Cypherpunx – Hier+Jetzt [Rebellion] A loose translation of the lyrics featured in Hier+Jetzt…”What do you think? Can we change the course of events? Any scientist would tell you no, causal determinism forbids it. But it is human nature to believe that we play a role in our own lives, that our actions can change things. All my life, i’ve dreamed of travelling through time, to see what was and what will be.You don’t dream that any more? Dreams change, other things become more important. My place is not in the yesterday or tomorrow; rather, it’s right here+now.”
Christian Nielsen – Rising Sun [Of Unsound Mind] Christian really seems to have found his sound recently, this whole EP is killer but i love the standout arpeggio action on this opening track.
Anii – Aniitime [Kompakt] It’s been great watching Ania’s journey over the last few years. This is a beauty of a release with her self titled Aniitime track being the real gem here.
Chris Liebing – And All Went Darl feat. Polly Scattergood (Goldfrapp Remix) [Mute] would love to know how this came about. It’s an absolutely mind blowing remix by Goldfrapp which we used to open up our recent DJ Mix with. Perfect set starter which is full of tension and drama.
Klement Bonelli – Majeer [Kaoz Theory] This one is also on our latest DJ mix and comes from Kerri Chandler’s darker and more gritty label Kaoz Theory. Raw emotive and at the same time pumping perfect for the dancefloor.
Rival Consoles – Dreamer’s Wake [Erased Tapes] One of the best albums to come out last year. This song like the rest of the album is full of atmosphere and detail that keeps your ears guessing. Inspiring stuff from the Rival Consoles.
Nolan & Idris Elba – Children Of House (Of Norway Remix) [Connaisseur Recordings] This features on our Alataj Spotify playlist and although a few years old now, the Of Norway remix does some serious damage. It’s dark and gritty analog arpeggio with swirling pads and Idris Elba waxing lyrical about the sorry state of EDM is a killer combination
Fideles – Tynos [Afterlife Records]wThis one is in our latest DJ mix too and it’s huge! Beautiful swirling pads, gnarly synth effects and a massive bassline. Not sure why it’s track 4 on the EP and not first!
Made By Pete feat Jem Cooke – So Long [Crosstown Rebels]An absolute beauty of a song this one, timeless and touches on so many levels. It’s funny i’ve known James for many years now so was intrigued as to why he called this project Made By Pete.. simple answer when i asked him was.. his dad’s name is Pete!
Cypherpunx – Here+Now [Rebellion]Using the same palette of sounds and instruments we set about making a b-side for Hier+Jetzt. Heavy use of the Roland System 100 and the Prophet V for the synths on this, plug Doug jamming on the guitar.
