“When we launched DRUMSHEDS last year the ethos – as with so many of our endeavours – was to create a musical identity that represented the diversity of those following Broadwick Live’s projects so far. It’s never been about single sounds for us, whether the deeper Techno stylings of ARBAT’s Upperground crew, foundational Bass in the form of Rinse or Worried About Henry, milestone anniversaries from electronic pillars like Defected and BuggedOut! or even the future-format classical of Aurora Orchestra…
Our partners are collectively responsible for shaping global music culture today, which is why under the umbrella of a single set we aspire to cover a lot of bases; across the 20+ shows in this run we feel we have achieved that, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone to the venue for another season of adventures” – Ajay Jarayam, Head Of Music – Broadwick Live
Thanks to a partnership with Spotify, DRUMSHEDS Season 3 will see the launch of a specially curated hub on the streaming platform featuring artists from the line-up and allowing guests to explore the sounds of each show. Building on their BIG IS BEAUTIFUL campaign, DRUMSHEDS team up with Stink Films and Eoin Glaister collaborate for the third time with Broadwick Live on the release of the Drumsheds’ line up. ‘Big just got BIGGER’ is the latest work of director Eoin Glaister in collaboration with Broadwick Live Design Director Jack Walmsley, – taking inspiration from Japanese Tokusatsu cinema to create a nostalgic but hilarious metaphor about size in homage to the venue’s large capacity. Colourful ninjas, sausage fighting robots and silliness all feature heavily.
“We wanted to lean into our reputation for producing the unexpected for this campaign. AW24 is our biggest music season at Drumsheds to date and we needed a campaign that does it justice, so naturally thought transforming Drumsheds into a sausage fighting robot was the way to go.” – Jack Walmsley – Design Director, Broadwick Live
