Adam Beyer – Give It Up [Armada]
Off the back of creating a worldwide hype from charts to radio to dance floors with ‘PATT (Party All The Time)’ (with Sharam, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet), techno legend and Drumcode label boss Adam Beyer has put his hand to another globally esteemed dance classic. The Good Men’s ‘Give It Up’, the 1992 classic produced by renowned duo Chocolate Puma under one of their many aliases, has been turned into a driving mainstage techno banger that will dominate festivals, clubs and Ibiza shows throughout the summer season.
Played extensively by the Swedish DJ and producer for months ahead of today’s release, his take on ‘Give It Up’ demonstrates a rather innovative sound blend. Fusing the African percussion and buoyant trumpet sounds of the original release with pounding kick drums and propulsive beats, the track pays homage to The Good Men’s timeless production whilst appealing to the current and future generations as a proper speaker-buster.
“There’s no denying the major impact ‘Give It Up’ has had globally,” says Adam Beyer. “So giving this old house classic a fresh techno flavour for 2024 is an honour and it has been going down a storm every time I have played it so far”
