Lawrence Hart, Giulia Tess – Trust/More Data To Survive [Double Six]
Lawrence Hart and Giulia Tess deliver their second collaboration, the powerful punchy club cut ‘More Data To Survive’, out 4th April on Double Six. Their recent collab ‘Trust’ won major support from Lauren Laverne, Jess Iszatt, Jaguar, Jack Saunders, Floating Points on NTS, Rinse… and announced Hart’s signing to the imprint, with more to come from him this year.
‘More Data To Survive’ is a club-perfect, relentless barrage of beats and diamond-clear layers of sound. From the insanely fast percussion with a hooky hop in it, to a pizzicato blizzard of notes, the morse-like note stream like fat raindrops hitting a drumskin, to the sudden bursts of pitch-shifted, distorted vocal riff, an ecstatically merciless assault on ears, feet and brain.
Says Hart, ‘I’ve been a big fan of Giulia since her ‘200417’ EP. Our instant synergy in the studio meant ‘Trust’ was completed in one day. Soon after, we went to Giulia’s studio and created ‘More Data To Survive’.’
‘Making music with Lawrence felt very special from the first time we were in the studio together. There was alchemy right away, and our ideas merged from the get-go,’ Tess says. ‘I admire him artistically and care for him very much. I feel this is reflected in this release.”
