ALADAG’s Party Playlist
Berlin-based DJ, producer and director Aladag is a dreamer and a doer. For a long time his main focus was being a director, writer, and producer in the film industry. Bringing visions from the mind to the screen, be they his own or helping others with theirs, has shaped a life centred around the process of creation. However, music has been a constant companion on his journey, from the earliest beginnings – starting to DJ at age 13 and producing at 14 – to co-writing and co-producing multiple German Gold and Platinum records, until now, when he has awarded the musical muse the lead role in his life once again.
He is also a river born from multiple confluences. His Turkish roots, him growing up in Stuttgart’s hip-hop scene and later finding a new home in Berlin’s techno clubs, all within a family (both biological and chosen) which lives and breathes creativity. Playing with opposites, crossing boundaries and searching within, Aladag is a deeply introverted human who is daring to bring his emotions to light. For Aladag, music is a connector between souls and the hero of his journey. As Dance Rebels delves deeper into ALADAG’s musical taste he has compiled his own party playlist for us:
An absolute beauty by Gleb Filiochenkow, Shiny Head remixed by Nandu. It’s a groovy beast. I love the vocals, their sound and also how they evolve throughout the song. The overall soundscape of the track is super rich, yet very clear and minimalistic with a sophisticated arrangement that tells a fine story.
RY X with his angle like voice in a very deep and playful remix by Frank Wiedemann. This combination of creative genuises, that already led to the amazing remix of howling 11 years ago.
The third part of the Rapture trilogy by &Me and Black Coffee is an emotional masterpiece that currently ensures that many many people on many dance floors experience a shared moment of uplift.
The track Forever, Solomun’s remix for Weval impresses with its dragged groove with a classically housy feel and lots of nice harmony sequences and dynamics.
Tiga and Kölsch are already an exciting combination per se. The track has the original Tiga swag and the broad epic soundscape and narrative form of Kölsch anthems.
Fine, finer, Koze. With his delicate sound design that everyone loves and appreciates so much. Grooves that waft and cheekily modulated, unfolds a new world that sounds unknown and familiar at the same time.
Dixon, Ida Corr and Nandu have created a truly distinctive sound. Retro house grooves meet warmly unfolding melodies and haunting vocals that offer multilayered harmony and drive at the same time, framed in a beautiful arrangement.
Pure energy. As simple as it is brilliant. The combination of these 3 artists is already an explosive mixture. The track meets and exceeds every expectation.
Michael Mayer mixes disco and funk elements with the unmistakable Kompakt sound and makes 4 decades of greatness dance and sound together.
My most personal track so far. Trying to look deep inside and high out with what there is to see and feel. An attempt to create a new sound that hopefully transports this emotional message through the speakers.
