Jasper Tygner – Real Time [LG105]
Emerging but already supported by industry tastemakers, live artist/producer Jasper Tygner releases his multi-faceted four-tracker ‘Real Time’ in full on February 23rd on alt-electronic imprint LG105 (home of Mall Grab, Effy, bad tuner, Steel City Dance Discs, Mafro). The EP follows his sold out debut live show in November (more to come this year..) and sets at Field Day and the recent Zamna Tulum alongside Channel Tres and Maceo Plex.
One of DMY’s ‘artists to watch 2023’ and Amazon Music’s ‘Ones To Watch 2022’, multi-instrumentalist Londoner Tygner uses keys/piano/analog Moogs, drawing upon UK Garage, Jungle, Gorillaz, jazz, dubstep and film/TV influences for his own rich sound, honed since the age of 9 playing in jazz bands and orchestras. The EP features two new exclusive cuts.
FLLL: pulsating melodic synth chords start deceptively slow, before lively hi-hat, assertive bass drum and jumping pizzicato strings with pitch-shifted vocal riffs create an intriguing, layered soundscape equally ensnaring for dancefloor drama or blissed out home listening. ‘This track was made directly after a trip to Berlin. I wanted to make my own version of some of the techno I had heard, something with interweaved melodies and chords, but still leaning on Texture and structure to drive the track.’
Strangers Around (Ft Just Lil): Just Lil’s smoky, sensual vocal sits strong over choppy synths and rhythmic percussion. ‘I wanted a track where the vocals could shine. Me and Lily had a day in the studio chatting and sharing music. Was a super organic process, one of those ones where you know you have something good!’.
The EP also features recent pivotal hits, including Jaguar’s Dancefloor Moment ‘Need You’. ‘Need You’, and ‘Deny It’ bagged spins across BBC Radio 1 inc. Pete Tong, Jaguar on BBC Introducing Dance and Sian Eleri on Chillest Show, Kiss Dance, plus strong DSP support across Spotify (inc. cover of UK House Music playlist) and Apple Music. Tygner recently also did guest mixes on Rinse FM, Foundation FM and Reprezent Radio, exciting accolades for this young talent on the rise. Gig-wise, he’s supported DJ Boring, Leon Vynehall, salute, O’Flynn.
