Following the success of last summer’s party, Aitch commented: “I’m gassed to return to Ibiza Rocks this summer for another round of my Aitch 2-0 Pool Party. I’m bringing some special guests along with me, it’s going to be bigger and better than before!” The full Aitch 2-0 line-up will be revealed soon..
In addition to Aitch 2-0, Ibiza Rocks is excited to reveal its brand-new Thursday residency Fire In The Pool Fuelled by JD, bringing the iconic ‘Fire in the Booth‘ radio show, poolside. UK Rap has always been connected to Ibiza Rocks, with renowned artists such as Stormzy taking to the stage during the early days of his career. This summer, the newly remodelled Ibiza Rocks will give UK Rap a permanent home at the Home of the Pool Party.
It wouldn’t be right if Fire in the Pool wasn’t hosted by its founder himself, Charlie Sloth, and he’ll be joining Ibiza Rocks as the weekly host every Thursday from June – September. It doesn’t stop there though as some of the biggest names in the UK Rap scene; ArrDee, Bugzy Malone, Headie One, D-Block Europe, Krept & Konan and more will be taking to the stage over the course of the summer. This will be the only pool party of its kind in Ibiza.
Kicking off the season every Thursday from the 1st of June until the 29th of June, rapper ArrDee makes his way to the White Isle after a successful 2022, performing in renowned venues and festivals across the globe including Aitch 2.0 at Ibiza Rocks. This summer, ArrDee returns to the island with a splash.
Hip-Hop collective D-Block Europe will be taking over the stage on Thursday the 13th, 20th, and 27th of July. The BRIT-nominated group, also listed in Complex UK’s Best Albums of 2022, have occupied the UK Top 40 charts consistently since the beginning of their career in 2014. Expect to hear tracks from their latest album ‘Lap 5’ as they headline Ibiza Rocks this July.
D-Block Europe, also known as DBE, make their highly anticipated return to Ibiza Rocks after shutting it down at #Merky Fest back in 2019. Brits nominees in 2020 and selling out the o2 three times in 2022, London-based rappers Dirtbike LB and Young Adz are now set to headline Wireless festival this summer, before flying out to the Home of the Pool Party with the world’s first D-Block Europe Presents DBE Fest on Thursday 27th July. Having collabed with Rocks favourites Dave, Central Cee, Aitch, Krept & Konan, Raye & Yxng Bane; you can only begin to imagine the special guest pulling up. It’s going to be a movie.
Heating things up on Thursday 20th of July will be Headie One, described by Drake as ‘the best drill artist in the world’, London-born Headie One will perform a one-off live show at the poolside venue. Recently shook the world with the much-anticipated single Martin’s Sofa, along with its highly-acclaimed music video and mini-documentary, Headie One will bring his fiery energy this summer.
Later in the season, Manchester’s Bugzy Malone will take over the Ibiza Rocks stage on Thursday 10th of August with an exclusive live performance. Bugzy was one of the first grime artists to receive commercial success and was hailed as one of the key artists in laying the foundations for the ‘grime revival’.
UK grime artists Krept and Konan close the summer season with shows every Thursday from the 7th to the 28th of September, performing much-loved tracks from their infamous discography. The South London-born duo have risen to become two of the most vital voices on the British music scene, known for their huge musical and community-based achievements, with the pair awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in the 2020 Birthday Honours.
Ibiza Rocks’ Talent and Programming Manager Patrick Nazemi commented, “After years of House and Techno dominating the Balearic scene, we’re excited to give the UK’s biggest artists across Hip-Hop, Grime and Rap a permanent home on the island. We are the innovators of bringing new sounds and cultural experiences to the island and this year’s Fire In The Pool UK Rap residency at our high spec new venue further emphasises the long-standing and forward-thinking evolution of Ibiza Rocks.”
Fire In The Pool’s curator, Charlie Sloth, commented, “I’m gassed to be bringing Fire In The Pool to Ibiza Rocks! We are ready to create the most insane experience for the people. Summer just got a whole lot better!”
