Volaris – Tygar/Dark Places [Sola]
Rising UK two-piece Volaris make their long-awaited duo on Solardo’s Sola imprint with ‘Tygar’. The release kicks off with ‘Tygar’, diving straight into a potent mix of weighty drum work, rising melodies and euphoric energy. Its core of driving percussive momentum paves the way for a striking arp synth line and pulsating bass notes, supplemented by chanting vocal chops and blistering hat grooves, carving out an impressive peak-time cut with endless hands-up moments from beginning to end.
‘Dark Places’ closes off the release with more percussive focus, building around tribal-infused instrumental grooves and serenic vocal sampling. Its enchanting sea of swirling melodies and rhythmic bass notes ride a continuous ebb and flow of gritty flavours as it glides through intensifying harmonies and hypnotic breakdowns into several potent drops and vigorously danceable segments.
Volaris are soon to be a very familiar name in underground dance music circles. A patient development has seen them working very hard in the studio honing their sound into something truly cutting edge. Summer 2022 sees them begin to unleash their musical wares upon us via singles on key labels such as Armada, Sola & John Summit’s OTG imprint.
Already having a multitude of tracks championed by Solardo, Danny Howard, Vintage Culture, Dom Dolla, Eli Brown, Camelphat, & John Summit, Volaris are set to make a big impact on the scene this summer and beyond with their massive sounding melodic infused productions.
The Volaris sound has been heard at every major festival and show including Ushuaia Ibiza, Creamfields,
EDC Vegas, Ultra Miami, CRSSD San Diego, Tomorrowland and many more. Highlights of 2022 also include their DJ set at UNDR alongside Solardo, a BBC Radio 1 debut of an unreleased track and being assigned the prestigious task of taking over Solardo’s SOLA radio show as the new weekly host.
