Electronic music pioneer Michael Canitrot re-emerges with a new sound brimming in French musical heritage. The French DJ and producer marks the end of a musical hiatus with his stunning new project ‘Canitrot’, delivering a fresh, matured sound that reflects an artist who, like the dance music scene around him, has taken the last few years to reflect and realign.

Celebrating this French heritage with the debut of his collaboration with Wielki, Canitrot performed at the Paris New Year’s Eve fireworks display, sharing the track with his nation for the first time as they beckoned in the new year. ‘Contemplation’ is an instrumental track that traverses between progressive sounds and melodically infused techno. Guaranteed to hypnotize and galvanize the dancefloor, it’s imperious feel through undulating metrics and intricate drum programming are combined with a unique ‘live-feel’. Soothing electric pianos and embracing choral tones are abundant throughout this joyous new venture.

This new Canitrot project is supported by a spectacular tour under the name MONUMENTAL, where Michael will be performing together with visual artists at iconic French monuments. He embraces this innovative idea to use historic French landmarks as the canvas on which to create incredible sound, light and mapping events.
