Prospa – Rave Science Vol. 2 [Rave Science]
Ahead of the eagerly anticipated release of ‘Rave Science Vol. 2’, Leeds via London electronic duo Prospa share the next two tracks from the mighty sophomore EP on their own label. Returning to live music with a dynamic impact and a relentless touring schedule of high profile clubs and the UK’s biggest festivals, the pair follow ‘Voyage’ with ‘Bloodshot’ and ‘Love Someone’, two tracks that embody the raw electronic ethos at Prospa’s core.
‘Bloodshot’ presents a distinct nostalgia for classic Detroit electro, while playfully teasing some very UK-influenced rhythms throughout. Squelching and grinding modular drums bounce off ascending arpeggios that warp through a multitude of nano-forms as this warehouse beast progresses.
‘Love Someone’ brings anthemic vocal pads and symphonic strings in an archetypal sound for breakbeat aficionados. Diced-up vocal leads mesmerise the mind while their superbly sliced drums ensure optimum movement on the warehouse floor. Through a monumental breakdown of spine-tingling ecstasy, to their floor-filling wall of sound drops, the pair envisage a futuristic new take on the heritage UK rave genre.
