Nights In Reverse – The Need [New State]
Nights in Reverse is the new brainchild project formed of DJ’s KDN Q and BETA95. Their debut release under their new alias – ‘The Need’ lands on one of the UK’s largest independent record labels, New State Music.
The track is a euphoric blend of genres taking heavy influence from the golden eras of rave music, 90’s house, and sound system culture. A musical palette that puts euphoric, rave-centric dance music at its core; the track features alluring vocal melodies riding over shimmering synths, a weighty, dark bass-line, and skippy, shuffling drum grooves that express powerful emotion, whilst also perfectly capturing the raw energy of the dancefloor.
“ The Need was a discovery process for both of us. It was the first time we really both put a lot of thought into how we wanted to structure the track whilst putting a strong stamp on our sound and sonic development as a duo. It was also the first track that encompassed both of our individuality as producers, with KDN Q working on the emotional melodies and structure, and BETA95 working on sound design and percussion. The track started with the vocal, which felt perfect for expressing the human desire to dance and grew from there. This feels like truly the first track that represents the Nights In Reverse sound and has set the precedent for all of the music we make moving forward.” – Nights in Reverse
