Prospa – Rave Science Vol.1 [Polydor]
Prospa are an electronic duo that trade in the euphoric. Whether they’re crafting full bodied, textured ambience or high energy club frequencies, the London-based, Leeds-born duo create moments custom built for definitive moments shared with others. They now unveil Rave Science Vol. 1; the first in a series of projects that place the focus firmly on the power of rave through propulsive tracks that reaffirm the communal spirit of dance music.
EP opener ‘Sira’ is the duo’s highly anticipated collaboration with Swedish electronic figurehead DJ Seinfeld; a trance infused cut of analog-indebted techno, filled with oscillating synths, dramatic atmospheres and high impact percussion that takes a much loved vintage sound and transports it into the future.
‘Boy Racer’ takes off-kilter rhythms and turns them into a frenetic analog workout, using slick drum machine patterns and arpeggiated pixellated tones to leave no space in the track unoccupied. This, coupled with ascending melodics and a cascading distorted bass tone make for one of the duo’s most diverse compositions yet.
Final track ‘Burns No More’ is the EP’s most potent, utilising shards of stadium ready sonics to fuse with compressed 909 kicks, digital noise, swelling orchestrals and a rave throwback samples that will spark familiarity synapses with ease.
