Dillon Nathaniel – Reason To Fly EP [Sola]
For the next instalment on Solardo’s Sola imprint, Dillon Nathaniel takes the reins with this 3 track house delight, including a collaboration with Rowetta. “Had to start the new year off with a bang! Diving deeper into my roots a mixture of authentic house, showcasing some of my signature dark grooves as well as a revisiting an old project and bringing it to life” – Dillon Nathaniel
The EP kicks off with Reason To Fly featuring one of the most soulful singers in the game, Rowetta from the revered group The Happy Mondays. The record showcases how a simple but effective groove and a powerful vocal can ignite the energy in the room and make you forget your worries, a nod to old school authentic house, a true beauty. Next up is the Free The World, simply put, a tribal percussion line, a traditional Saharan African Chant, and a modulating Korg ms – 20. Taking a deeper electronic sound with Don’t Make Me, the final track on the EP has dark grooves but maintains the soul and rhythm of an energetic house record. The deep rhythm of the bass with the frequency cutting tonal percussion shots make it a wild ride all the way to the end.
