Marc Maya – Oscilator [Sola Nauts]
Marc Maya makes his debut on Sola Nauts with his two track rolling tech house Oscillator EP and it does not disappoint.
First up is the title track, Oscillator, the elegantly dark electronic edit on the EP, sharp hi-hats, a bouncy bassline, an unexpectedly menacing vocal all building up to an epic percussive breakdown exploding into a sublime tech house rhythm, essentially giving this track everything that you could possibly need to get on your feet. Next we have Real Rhythm, a steady percussive beat opens the track accompanied with a sexy groove-laden vocal, the monumental breakdown opens out to an even bigger warped bassline and fatter beats, a track that will ensure every raver yearns for the clubs to reopen.
Marc Maya is no stranger to the dance music scene, initially stepping to the front line in the late 90’s, with his alias Marc Huardi and his very well known Breakstorm Parties. Techno and drum & bass rhythms were the first on Barcelona’s scene, and from this came the Narkotic Dlux project with Mario Biani. This bond led directly to Maya becoming a resident in the popular Florida 135 every weekend, and becoming one of the main artists in the international festival Monegros Desert Festival. Then in 2008 Maya would pair up with Juan Arnau, a prolific promoter in Spain to carry out a new project: the opening of Row 14, certainly one of the most charming and famous clubs in the city. With a weekly crowd of 4000 clubbers attending every single show, this is how El Row Sundays was born. In other words, Marc’s new home.
Always attracted to the grooviest rhythms, it’s hard to put Maya into one genre box. Dynamic and versatile throughout his sets, this is the key to his worldwide success. His entrepreneurial charisma and toughness in the studio have aided Marc’s career and he has had the opportunity to collaborate with labels like Mindshake (May 2021), Saved Records, Suara, Viva Music , KNM, Cr2, Great Stuff, Natura Viva, 1605 Music Therapy, Clepsydra, VIVa LIMITED, Upfront Recs, Stick Records, Florida Music and of course elrow Music amongst others.
