AFTC & Gene Farris – Spirit Of House [Toolroom]
AFTC and Gene Farris join forces delivering ‘Spirit Of House’ on Toolroom Records this February.
A leading name within the music industry for nearly three decades, AFTC remains a longstanding label favourite on Toolroom Records. With three UK Top 40 hits under his belt, plus remixes of music legends ranging from P.Diddy and Missy Elliot to Faithless and Dido, he’s also part of an illustrious group of artists to have entered into Pete Tong’s Essential Mix Hall of Fame, with the BBC Radio 1 tastemaker describing his productions as ‘verging on genius’.
As Toolroom begin to welcome a slew of new and exciting collaborations for 2020, here we see him pair up alongside Chicago house favourite Gene Farris, who arrives fresh from releases via the likes of Relief, Dirtybird, VIVa Music and Defected, as the duo unveil their new single ‘Spirit Of House’ this February.
Opening with hard-hitting hi-hats and rumbling basslines ‘Spirit Of House’ is a jackin’ 90s inspired feel-good house cut, combining AFTC’s iconic and well executed house arrangements with Gene Farris’ legendary vocals revealing an extremely impressive release with two of the most established producers in the scene.
