Emanuel Satie’s Party Playlist
Emanuel Satie is an award winning producer and DJ based in Berlin/Germany. His music is released on labels such as Cocoon, Saved Records , Rebirth and many more. For his next release, on Friday 28th February, he is unveiling a 2 track EP via Crosstown Rebels which consists of ‘Tokyo ASMR‘ and ‘Rivers feat. MAMA‘, pre-order HERE. To celebrate this release, Emanuel has conjured a party playlist featuring his current favorite picks, listen below;
Emanuel Satie feat. Mama – Rivers First let’s talk about my new single on Crosstown Rebels. A collaboration with the singer MAMA that started 10 years ago by her recording a small a song idea during a sleepless night in a difficult time. 10 years later the vocal somehow ended up in my studio and I immediately fell in love with the raw, honest emotion captured in it. We’re happy to release it into the world now after it’s 10 years journey.
Nocturnal Sunshine feat. RY X – Gravity For me RY X is one of the most outstanding vocalists in dance music at the moment, always hitting exactly the right tone. Here he teams up with the always great Maya Jane Coles to deliver an incredible piece of music.
&lez – Kevlar &lez is an artist that makes it into my sets a lot at the moment. Love his percussive but atmospheric productions that build up into peak time bliss. This one is his best one to date in my opinion.
Erol Alkan – Spectrum (Special Request Kaleidoscopic Mix) Paul Woolford is a studio wizard, making timeless house music under his real name and more synthy stuff with his Special Request alias. In this remix here he’s bringing the already excellent „Spectrum” by Erol Alkan into a new dimension.
Marino Canal – Curious Eyes A lot of times dubby tracks can just sound like another Basic Channel copy and not have a strong identity on their own, Marino Canal manages to make a dub techno track here that is full of personality and stands out. Perfect for opening sets on bigger stages.
Aril Brikha – Thrive On Chaos Aril Brikha is a legend, his classic „Groove La Chord” is still being played a lot even 20 years after it’s original release. He just released a beautiful album on Mule Musiq, it’s techno without kicks that sends you into trance. This cut here is my favorite.
Patrice Baumel – Sender Patrice is doing it again and again. Another one that hits the mark
for me with it’s driving groove and dramatic stabs. Many of Patrice’s best tracks are the ones where there is not one element that definitively stands out, but instead the track develops it’s power through the interplay of the sounds, the groove and the masterful arrangement.
Fideles – Conjunction Fideles are amongst my favorite producers since quite some time, always reinventing themselves and getting better with each reinvention. Recently they’ve went in a more atmospheric, trancey direction, releasing on labels like Afterlife. This one caught me a bit by surprise with it’s uplifting indie/discoish vibe. It manages to rip dancefloors apart, while still staying classy.
Butch – Lale Not only a great guy but also delivering since so many years. Butch delivers something that
sounds like a modern classic, with it’s catchy organ chords and the diva vocal, it gives a feeling of familiarity, as if we heard it before, which is the sure sign of a hit.
Joe Metzenmacher & Borka & The Gang – Magic Talk This is the kind of track you want to listen to when you leave the house in the morning with a coffee to go in your hand and a smile in your face, the sun shining, having the feeling that nothing can go wrong today.
