Juliet Sikora – Beat Dancer (Flashmob Remixes) [Flashmob]
Every label has that stand-out record which helps define it, and for Flashmob Records it is undoubtedly this summer’s Beat Dancer by Juliet Sikora‘s. Peaking at #6 on the Beatport Tech House chart and #13 on the overall Top 100, the track has spent 7 weeks in the genre Top 10, a further 7 weeks in the genre Top 100, and more than 10 weeks in the overall Top 100. The track has become a regular feature in the sets of CamelPhat, Joris Voorn, ANEK, Mendo and Dennis Cruz, and on 13th December, label boss Flashmob will reignite the fire with a pair of remixes that’ll keep the beat dancing well into 2020.
Flexing his versatility as a producer on this release, Flashmob treats us to two pristine versions of Sikora’s summer smash with his “D Remix” and “T Remix“. Beginning with the “D” mix, we’re treated to a cool, deep house vision of the track which strips things back to basics and reminds you how Flashmob made his name in this industry. Groove, melody and subtle effects keep things moving as the vocal sample dips in and out, layered over a classic house style synth and expert percussion – this mix is one for the serious scene heads.
On the flipside, his T Remix steps things up a gear and takes things down a darker route, one which puts the mix firmly in late night warehouse territory. A growling bassline underpins the Beat Dancer vocal sample and carries the groove alongside a sharp, electro synth and low-end effects that bubble throughout. Channelling a distinct progressive influence, the T Remix provides guaranteed energy for those heads-down dance floor situations.
“Beat Dancer has been such an important record for the label that I thought it was a MUST as label owner to give it a spin… I then got carried away and ended up doing two mixes!”
