Flashmob’s Party Playlist – ADE Showcase
With the mammoth breakthrough single “Need In Me” (Defected), Flashmob rocked the ever crowded electronic music stage and enjoyed that rare sense of worldwide dance floor love. Not content to stay still, however, Flashmob’s sound, production, and go-for-broke DJ sets have changed with the game, embracing the vitality of new house music rather than hankering after the sentimental sunsets of the good old raves. And so, Flashmob’s ethic and aesthetic move relentlessly forward and onward, using the old and new to craft unique sonic alchemy from big festivals like Tomorrowland to the intimacy of small clubs on the international circuit.
Currently celebrating 5 years in the game, Flashmob Records have also pulled out all the stops to ensure their forthcoming annual ADE showcase is one not to be missed. Joining forces with Flamingo Recordings on Friday October 18th, for a takeover of the Pollux Pacific – a 19th century 3-masted sailing ship and undeniably one of Amsterdam’s most unique venues.
Flashmob Records will host Room 1 with label-boss Flashmob joined by special guests Amine Edge & DANCE and Juliet Sikora, alongside label favourites including Anabel Sikora, Luca Garaboni, Baum, Andrew Meller, Anabel Sigel, Anek, Di Chiara Brothers, Ivan Pica, Rene Amesz, Marco Lys, Ruben Mandolini and Skizzo.
Tickets to the event at this years ADE are available HERE, and to celebrate the event Flashmob have compiled a party playlist full of their current top tracks within their DJ sets, check it out below:
Juliet Sikora – Beat Dancer [Flashmob Records] Most sold record on the label for a reason. The hypnotic loop created by Juliet with the synth and vocal samples is kept on side by a very raw bassline that nowadays seems to be the trend. It’s a very simple track after all, but as all big tunes are, it’s perfect as it is. I’ve played this many times in different moments of my sets and it can be used in very different ways from the opening, to a transitional moment of the night, to a more after-party moment.
Skizzo – Let Me in Fellas [Flashmob Records] One of those tunes that sets the bar when you start a set. You can immediately feel the cool blend of vocal synth and groove. I love the feeling that this track spreads in the club when you play it. Loving the lower end of the track more than anything here because the multiple aspects of it seem perfectly integrated respecting each other’s spaces becoming one. Perfect.
Anek – New Vibes [Flashmob Records] This is one of my favorite signings of this year. The Danish girls have really put together something that I consider to be really innovative. The energy of this track – and especially the way it developed – is extraordinary for me… It’s in all my sets… I find it to be erotic in a way – it turns me on. Try it… Never fails!
Alex Kennon feat. Funkerman – I can’t get you (Extended Mix) [Saved Records] This is a super production with a story to it. I find this to be a really mature production and idea that can relate to younger and older clubbers at the same time. The vocal line of course makes it a really big record, Ten out of ten on this one; maximum level here.
Plaster Hands – Gipsy (Tommy Vee remix) [Flashmob Records] This is a great tool for the summer and for those nice and clean parties were the atmosphere is far from dark. I love the way the tribally feel and drums are blended together with the sample; it’s really happy. The dynamics here are really something. The track is a great art of production; play it out and you’ll understand what I’m saying.
Andrew Meller – Bee [Flashmob Records] One of the strongest and darkest releases of my label this year coming from 2018’s #4 best seller on Beatport; Andrew has built a track that seems to be for blowing festivals up. It has a very straight-up groove and hypnotic synth on top. The break is where the track really expresses itself at its best. I decided to sign this with Luca because although it is a little dark, it remains fresh after all when you play it out. I love the kick and the balance of the production.
Rene Amesz – Some Chanting [Flashmob Records] This is a track that has its own character and that is very, very current in my humble opinion. With a great deal of old school micro samples, the overall effect is great because it’s cool and fresh at the same time, with an old school jungly, hip-hoppy texture to it that is quite unique. I’m not surprised it’s doing so well. The vocal sample completes the whole idea making it a record you will remember.
Marco Lys – The Story Continues [Bambossa] Clearly a dance floor filler; The use and balance of the sax and of the vocal sample are the key elements here. They are refreshing and big room, but delivered in a very discrete way -that makes it a peak time banger without necessarily being a mainstream record. Perfect balance. Marco is clearly very good at using bigger samples in a very elegant way.
Luca Garaboni – Womb [Viva Music] One of those tracks you wanna have at the top of your list if you’re off to do an Ibiza session. It’s a peak time, party-igniting, tribally floor-filler. The perfect balance between the tribal groove and the synth loop keep you glued to the summery atmosphere it creates. I’ve dropped this at many festivals and it’s the one of those tracks you wanna play when the moment is right for the confetti cannons.
Flashmob – Roll The Dice [Flashmob Records] This is one of my favorite records I’ve ever done; The synth goes round and round and round and glues me to it. I think it’s a very particular and maybe difficult record for the younger generation, but for me it made sense giving it a release; it’s not all about charts after all. I think I might even re-utilize the synth in the future.
