Making his debut on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records this month is Truesoul regular Sidney Charles with his ‘Fnk Hrd EP‘. Whatever shade of House or Techno he’s producing, it’s always packed full of hard grooves, raw sounds and a classy simplicity. With releases on Relief, Moda Black, Intec, Moon Harbour and 8bit, a jam-packed DJing schedule and his role as A&R for Sante’s AVOTRE, its clear to see why Sidney Charles topped Resident Advisor’s Top 100 Most Charted Artists back in 2013. The EP kicks off with lead track, ‘Fnk Hrd‘, which layers jacking beats, powerful kicks and high hats over a funky bassline. ‘Hot Moog‘ follows suit offering pulsating low-end, swinging hats and echoing rim shots that together form a no-nonsense roller, closing out the EP in true Sidney Charles fashion.
