Valentino Mora – Yant Suea [Spazio Disponibile]: I follow Spazio Disponibile since the beginning. An innovative label focusing on emerging artist and big icons. Donato Dozzy & Neel are deep into organic, tribal and futuristic techno. This one from Valentino Mora is what the label is all about for me at the moment. Fresh ideas with fresh sounds.
Cooper Saver – Hypnotic Beat Tool [Permanent Vacation]: I like to search and dig deep into underground music and Permanent Vacation always followed me during my own development by always delivering great underground music. This angelic track, Is deep with a trippy groove. Perfect for warming up my nights. I usually search for this kind of tracks that capture you with a soul that is speaking through sounds. Happy mood.
KH – Only Human [Ministry of Sound Recordings]: I heard this track 1 year ago in Dekmantel during the Four Tet show and I was impressed about the power of this track, a real stomper. The vocal sample is from Nelly Furtado and the percussion is that special Four Tet signature sound that never disappoints.
Cattaree – Amenity [Kitchen Recordings]: Ok I admit that didn’t know this label and the artist before and I think that’s a good sing because now I know them both because of this song. Actually, the song has the identity I’m looking for, a song with a story that I can relate to. Love the melody and the introduction that lead up to the peak moment till the first break. I hope to hear something new from them soon. Keep up the great work!
Ovandra – Golden Vanilla [Ahrpe Records]: I had a big afternoon in Berlin with Ovend one year ago talking about music, experiences and live acts. Unfortunately he went back to Paris. Such an inspiring person with a strong attitude. I think this work came out of a friendship the duo established a long time ago. It’s continuing and it’s spreading. It´s something I can understand and identify myself with. I’m really digging this production mentally and emotionally. The harmony of the track is like kind of from a melancholic 90s trance track. It’s dragging myself into it. Psychedelic and deep!
Efdemin – Black Sun [Ostgut Ton]: Sometimes I like to break with normality and play a completely different track during my sets. My techno Berlin rave soul will never die and because of this I always think of Efdemin and his way to produce songs. An artist who inspired me a lot with his peculiar way to create crazy samples and weird ambiences by recording instruments as well as nature and city sounds for example. This track has that Berlin techno feeling. Quite raw but still playable in a set. This was a great album by him!
Sasha & Kolsch – The Lights [IPSO]: A banging collaboration. Sasha & Kolsch deliver a great and smart track. A kind of track that doesn’t disappoint on the dancefloor and instead makes the crowd go wild. It;s a simple melody but it has the right formula. Very strong production.
Ness – Vardar [A_Files]: Ethereal grooves, always my favorite style to play. Big room techno. I’m following Ness since a while now and his particular sound is very close to my own vision of ambient deep techno or leftfield house. Affine is one of my favorites in the techno scene, ambient atmospheric and meditative synthesis melted with deep beats…
Apparat – Means Of Entry [MUTE]: Mute is the label of my dreams and to see an amazing artist like him release there more or less year after year is something really inspiring for me. It’s interesting to compare the way he was producing back in the days, when he was a part of the electronic dance scene, and nowadays. He changed a lot, but at the same time he didn’t. The way he developed and changed his music is great and I admire it. It’s hard find the right words for this song because this could be the peak music production for a musician like him. Extremely creative and versatile, influenced by a 60s Beatles vibe.
Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons – All I Need To Het High (Ae:ther Dreaming Dub Remix) [Crosstown Rebels]: This was a big thing for me. The art of creating music is more or less like building a sculpture or painting. You only have a blank sheet of paper and, day after day, you need to extract the essence of what you see. I had the idea of the vocals with a kind of meditative / acid / psychedelic bass line and a deep atmosphere in the background. It’s something I’ve tested in the past and tried to recreate again with the sounds I have today. As always, I did not have a good feeling about it at first, like, “this will never work,” but in the end it worked out well. I made the first version with my synth, then I took it out, it was very heavy. So I ended up with the idea of a dub version with the vocals as the peak moment.
