Wheats – Warrior Wall EP [Toolroom]
Introducing our youngest recruit, Wheats. His story is certainly a unique one. Initially spotted by Mark Knight from a demo submission, in a little over a year he’s racked up over a million streams and countless plays from the world’s biggest DJs. Now a fully-fledged member of the Toolroom artist roster, we welcome him to the flagship label for the first time with his two-track ‘Warrior Wall EP‘.
Keeping the energy up with punchy stabs, the pace is quick and everything you’d expect from Wheats, taking you straight to a sweaty nightclub. It’s everything you’d want and need at 3AM, with the beat rumbling though a big speaker sound system, this is ‘Warrior Wall‘. The b-side, ‘Everyone‘ follows suit, offering the perfect hazy break down accompanied with a faint diva vocal. What’s unique about Wheats is the sheer range of DJ support his productions achieve.
Already lauded by the likes of Calvin Harris, Erick Morillo, Kerri Chandler and Alan Fitzpatrick, his productions offer something different. An energetic sound with the production quality and intelligence that transcends current fads in the scene. It’s playable, chunky house music, as equally at home on the Studio 338 terrace to the red walls of DC10.
