Fabric’s 19th Birthday Weekend Part I
We are 19. For the FABRICLIVE chapter of our 19th birthday weekend three leading voices in bass take over all three rooms in Farringdon.
One of the biggest authorities in DNB Drum&BassArena takes charge of Room One calling on some of the most important figures active in the genre today. First on the bill are Manchester’s Dub Phizix & Strategy with their expert touch on weaving together tempos from across the bass spectrum. The Upbeats join them with their incendiary draw on 170bpm music and the much respected Spectrasoul also land. Two certified stalwarts Ed Rush, Virus Recordings head honcho and Metalheadz’ Doc Scott are also in the house with their masterful hold on DNB. Finally Drum&BassArena present an artist on the rise from their label – Ownglow.
Barely Legal’s label Pretty Weird has been the perfect reflector of the diversity of her sets that expertly navigate all the way between jungle to garage and then to techno. We’ve been supporters of this direction since the label was incepted so we are super excited to give Room Two over to the Pretty Weird sound. Heading the bill two monikers from Bristol’s scene-leading dubwise bass community come together for a very special set with Kahn going b2b with Commodo. Another expert b2b pairing is planned with dub-touched-techno selectors Headhunter and Pinch. London DJ to watch and radio host Jossy Mitsu will also be in the house plus a very special guest – Bristol Punch Drunk dub specialist RSD.
While this is the first time that Addictive Behaviour come to Farringdon – you will already be familiar with the impressive roster they have built in their 5 years in operation. Tonight they land to take over Room Three and mark the launch of Tephra & Arkoze’s ‘When in Rome EP’. Joining the cast of promising new faces from their roster – Mystic State, Data 3, Tephra & Arkoze, Invadhertz, Sicknote & Sweetpea and Smuskind & Saunders – they have called upon the established figures Survival and Script to guest.
