Axwell Λ Ingrosso to Go on Hiatus as Swedish House Mafia Will Return in 2019
Swedish hitmakers Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso have made it clear their focus will be on Swedish House Mafia in 2019, putting their collaborative Axwell Λ Ingrosso project on hiatus in the meantime.
The trio, which reunited in epic fashion at Ultra Music Festival this past March, is ramping up their work in the studio in hopes of taking 2019 by storm. The trio felt “it was time” and they “missed” working as one of the most influential groups in dance music, per an interview Ingrosso gave to Swedish publication Metro.
The Axwell Λ Ingrosso project will go on hold because “there are three dots, it’s not two plus a dot,” Ingrosso said. Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso will continue to do solo work, which is exactly how the Swedish House Mafia operated before their first split.
The group plans to appear at Tomorrowland 2019 “at any cost,” per Angello. It’s certainly shaping up to be an exciting couple months both for the Swedes and for the dance music community, as anticipation rises for the return of Swedish House Mafia.
