Avicii Found Dead at 28
It is with great sadness that Dance Rebels shares the news of the passing of Tim Bergling, known best to the world as Avicii.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
The hitmaker behind “Levels,” “Wake Me Up” and countless other popular records was found dead in Muscat, Oman, according to a statement from this publicist. He was 28.
Tim Berglund, as was his birth name, announced that he would stop touring because of health concerns in March 2016. He also had to take a temporary hiatus from touring in the latter part of 2014 due to surgeries that removed his gallbladder and appendix earlier that year.
The staff here at Dance Rebels is sending our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Avicii in this terribly tough time.
This is a developing story and will be updated promptly as developments become public.
