Free Download: Vega – Manifold EP
Vega is a brand new name who wants to make a mark in the vast world of Electronic Dance Music. As a lover of all Electronic Music, Vega knows no boundaries. He appreciates how far music has gone and how unique the Electronic sound can be. That’s why he has chosen to follow a path not travelled: to produce music with no consistency to genres. He’ll produce House music, Trap, Trance, Progressive House, whatever comes naturally in his fingertips. His first music releases follows just that. His EP is called Manifold and it’s 7 tunes of various Electronic Music.
The first track is called Dark Hour and it’s a Breaks song. Taking the traditional EDM sound and throwing it in a blender, he creates an ominous dance record packed with strong drum programming. Playing the role of mad scientist, Vega mixes a variety of electronic noises and tweaked out effects into a dance floor incinerator. While the all-out buildups on Dark Hour creates a sonic frenzy, the subtle breakdowns show an equally impressive level of production chops and sound manipulation.
The second tune is a Progressive House song called Desolation. Vega sat behind his computer and was reminded of how cruel this world can be. He used that as inspiration for this track for the melancholy melody. The third track is a more upbeat tune called Much Luv. This was inspired by the production methods of Daft Punk. They sample a part of a song and make a funky beat to it. Vega did the same as he sampled the classic hit of Thomas Bangalter and DJ Falcon’s So Much Love To Give. He crafted a groovy beat and used different effects to give it a unique and fun sound. The fourth song is called Funky Monkey and is an Electro House production. He wanted to make a groove House beat with a kickass Electro lead. The slowed breakdown Progressively getting faster is a fun way to excite the dance floor.
The next three tracks dive into the wonders of Trance music. The start of this trilogy is a Progressive Trance song called Dynasty. One of Vega’s favorite labels is Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats. The Electro style bass with euphoric leads combined with a groovy drum percussion line just sounds so right. The melody was made years ago but he did not have the skills to complete it. Then late 2016 he found the melody and worked around it to form this tune. It’s his favorite of the bunch. The fifth tune is called Marvel. The melody appeared from nowhere as he played notes on the keyboard and came up with it. He wanted to make this a “Big Room” style song but make it have Trance elements. The final song is an Uplifting Trance track called Eclipse. He ups the BPM to 140, crafted a hard hitting bass and a heavenly supersaw lead.
