Matt Tolfrey – Jazz Hands EP [elrow]
We͛re just finishing June with summer hitting in full force and elrow Music wants to keep the energy high with one of its biggest deliveries in its short but strong history so far. We͛re happy to announce ERM͛s 107th reference, coming in the hands of one of the genres strongest artists: Matt Tolfrey. Leftroom label͛s boss and big electronic figure, Tolfrey͛s debut in elrow Music comes in form with a three-tracker original EP. Named ͚Jazz Hands͛, this short work is filled with strong, percussive rhythms that will tear up many dancefloors worldwide.
Opening the EP is the track naming it Jazz Hands, a song almost without any melody, that starts with a strong percussion, meeting with a backwards vocal line by the middle of the track, giving it its distinct vibe and character. Then we have a different version of the track, No Hands, that also starts with strong percussion but accompanied with a distinct effect line that gives the track its own life, making it a true dancefloor killer. Finally, closing the EP we have Beyond The Truth, a percussive and danceable tune, with a distinct hi-hat progression and a clearer vocal line, with a flubby melody that will marvel dancers and listeners alike.
All in all, Matt Tolfrey has delivered a truly remarkable EP, with a great percussive palette, that will be heard in many dancefloors this summer, adding one of the strongest artist of the genre to elrow Music͛s Hall of Fame. Big up for Tolfrey!
