Nicky Romero & John Christian – Iconic [Protocol Recordings]

As the Protocol fifth birthday celebration continues, label boss Nicky Romero teams up with John Christian for a huge track titled “Iconic”.

Premiered a month ago during livesets, this record marks the second collaborative effort between the two Dutchmen. The 2014 track “Next Level” showcased the duo’s first collective brainchild. “Iconic” was also the cornerstone in the 250th edition of Romero’s Protocol Radio show.

“Iconic” is the kind of track that succeeds because it puts both artists’ strengths to the forefront. Nicky Romero‘s penchant for thumping drops and John Christian‘s melodic genius link in up in a perfect formula. A captivating chord progression comes to live through acid/303 synths, dotted with catchy percussion. The drums fuse perfectly with a high-octane layering of synths to create the kind of sound that will rock just about any kind of venue.
