DJ Snake Cancels Festival Performance, Deletes Social Media Accounts

The festival replaced DJ Snake with a performance from rapper Lil Yachty. No reason was given for the cancellation, or the deletion of social media accounts.

On May 4, both DJ Snake and Lil Jon were named in a lawsuit by South Carolina rapper Freddie GZ and publishing company Golden Crown alleging the 2013 hit “Turn Down For What” stole the phrase from a similarly titled track released nine months earlier. At this point, it is unclear whether the lawsuit is the reason for the cancellation.
Golden Crown is represented by Richard Busch, the same lawyer who successfully represented Marvin Gaye‘s family in their lawsuit against Robin Thicke for similarities in the track “Blurred Lines”.
