Cristoph – Skedaddle EP [Circus]
This month sees on fire Cristoph make his Circus club and Circus Recordings debut. Although a seasoned DJ and producer, his profile in the last 6 months has expanded at extraordinary rate, particularly after joining Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound. Clearly a master studio hand, the quality of the finish on all 3 cuts stands toe to toe with anyone in dance music in 2017 Typically, the music is big enough the main stage and with enough groove for the dark rooms, showing an expansive repertoire over the 3 tracks.
Both Skedaddle and Cozen were written with the dance floor in mind, created for peak time sets. Cozen is more musically led with a staggered lead being the main focal point with prominent percussion to help the drive. Skedaddle, a slightly tougher record built around the drums and stabs and raging synth work with rolling vocal under tones Cristoph, accomplished in an array of music, closes the EP with a meticulous down tempo track Boundless. A sun laden laid-back cut built around a beautiful female vocal hook that carries the stripped back and minimalistic story along.
