TroyBoi X icekream – Hear Dat [Parlophone]

Fresh from making his FFRR debut with ‘And Wot?’ and shooting to 60 million combined plays at SoundCloud and Spotify, TroyBoi has joined forces with his regular collaborator, the American/Lebanese DJ/producer icekream, to deliver the fresh new follow-up ‘Hear Dat’.

‘Hear Dat’ accentuates the playful house-based genre explorations that TroyBoi delivered with ‘And Wot?’, but the dual vocal attack – a towering female topline that evokes 90s crossover dance and a sampled booming male baritone – makes for an immediately infectious track with the potential to reach a much wider audience.

TroyBoi and icekream have pooled their talents before, notably with the underground hit ‘The Gift’ and as the DJ/production team SoundSnobz. At home in the UK, TroyBoi’s growing profile has been underlined with some high profile guest mixes for Diplo and Friends and for Annie Nightingale’s Future Stars at Radio 1, as well as for DJ Target at 1Xtra too.
