KSHMR & Marnik feat. Mitika – Mandala (Official Sunburn 2016 Anthem) [Spinnin’ Records]

The result is always magical when KSHMR and Marnik get into the studio together. This year, they’ve teamed up again for “Mandala,” the official anthem for the 2016 edition of India’s Sunburn Festival.

It’s not deja vu: KSHMR and Marnik also were in charge of the anthem for last year’s festival. That record, “Bazaar,” held down the No. 1 spot on the Beatport Top 100 chart for eight days. This year’s edition also features vocalist Mitika, who herself hails from India.

The star of the breakdowns is Mitika, without a doubt. Her smooth yet passionate vocals drive this track forward over a unique combination of instruments. Next, KSHMR and Marnik make a melody explode into life with powerful synths and an awesome groove to it. The buildup takes over after that, with energetic drums helping to move “Mandala” hurdling towards the drop. A subtle but bouncy bassline and a dynamic top synth serve as the finishing touches that make “Mandala” the anthem Sunburn deserves.
