M35 & Wasback feat. Elle Vee – Let It Go [Maxximize Records]
You would think that Blasterjaxx‘s Maxximize imprint would only bring heavy big-room records, but M35 and Wasback show us something different on “Let It Go”.
Both producers are newcomers to the imprint, but each brings big label experience. M35 has starred on labels like Fonk (“Outbreak”) and Skink (“GO”), with Wasback‘s résumé sparkling with Revealed (“Magic”) and Metanoia (“Shots Fired”). “Let It Go” got its first exposure during the Spinnin’ Records ADE Night Mix, and grew to gain support from Hardwell, Nicky Romero and more.
This record’s sound certainly surprised me after seeing it was signed to Maxximize. Elle Vee takes over right from the start with powerful vocals over a soft yet alluring set of chords. She hits the chorus, and soon you can hear how M35 and Wasback work a slick melody in from the background. Percussion takes over next, and before you know it you find yourself enveloped in pure progressive house bliss. Airy melodies and pulsating basslines take this record to the next level. M35 and Wasback certainly destroyed expectations with “Let It Go”.
