Dzeko & Torres Address Hiatus on Social Media
Working as a duo can be tough in the dance music industry, and it seems as though another grouping has come to an end in the form of Dzeko & Torres. Tiësto‘s Musical Freedom label posted a track teaser for a recored known as “Liberty,” with artwork crediting simply Dzeko.
The duo will be taking on different roles from now on, with Dzeko focused on producing and touring, and Luis Torres focusing on being “an engineer/producer full time”. This change essentially reflects the systems used by both Bassjackers and Blasterjaxx, where each duo has one member on the road and the other in the studio.
The Toronto-based duo begin working together in 2010, before making it big with releases on labels like Mixmash and Dirty Dutch. They became regulars on Musical Freedom, with tracks like “Air” and “Alarm” generating dozens of plays from the industry’s biggest names.
A few days ago, a status was posted on their official verified Facebook page talking about the sacrifices that were required for their success. The post ended with “I can’t wait for 2017,” and was signed simply by Dzeko.
