Delayers feat. Larry Mendes – Dodge [Big & Dirty Records]
The Delayers roar back onto Big & Dirty Records with their next tune, titled “Dodge”.
The San Marino-based trio worked with Larry Mendes to complete this track. Of course, these guys are no strangers to the imprint. Past singles on the label include “Bubble” and “IMH”. The song debuted when the trio played it out live at Nameless Music Festival in Italy.
The breakdown is quite unique. It’s a completely different tempo from the rest of the track. The sound is best described as a “chopped and screwed” hip-hop vibe. The Delayers run “Dodge” into its buildup, where the tempo audibly speeds up. One last deeply-pitched vocal triggers the drop. A thumping bass house sound takes over, with a darker synth and grooving bassline. With “Dodge,” the Delayers and Larry Mendes show their ability to create a main-room weapon while also keeping their sound fresh.
