Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha – In The Name Of Love [STMPD RCRDS]
Martin Garrix is sitting on a trove of new music, and “In The Name Of Love” with Bebe Rexha is the first to release.
The track, which debuted at Ultra Music Festival in March, was the Dutchman’s closing record at Tomorrowland this year. It also marks his third collaboration with a high-profile vocalist, after teaming up with Usher on “Don’t Look Down” and John Martin and Michel Zitron on “Now That I’ve Found You”. “In The Name Of Love” is the third release on his STMPD RCRDS label.
Forget the Martin Garrix of “Animals” for a few minutes. “In The Name Of Love” is a completely different masterpiece. Bebe Rexha is simply fantastic with her vocals, providing plentiful emotion and powerful lyrics. She sings over a mostly mellow instrumental, leaving Garrix to show his ingenuity in the drops. He certainly comes through in this regard. His affinity for pitched vocals appears again, this time with sweet riffs over a trap bassline. The push-and-pull between Martin Garrix‘s instrumental and Bebe Rexha‘s vocals make for one of the most incredible displays of talent to date. “In The Name Of Love” is the perfect way to emphasize both artists strengths.
