Six Women Reportedly Found in DVBBS’ Dressing Room
Canadian duo DVBBS, made up of brothers Alexandre and Christopher van den Hoef, has been arrested in Budapest, Hungary, on drug charges after organizers of the Balaton Sound festival found two girls unconscious in their dressing room.
The mother of one of the girls filed a police report minutes after learning what happened.
Hungarian publication BorsOnline first reported that the girls were found. The duo already left for their next gig in Budapest, as they were scheduled to play at Sziget Festival. The van den Hoef brothers were arrested along with two other men after their clothes tested positive for a “suspicious substance,” according to Hungarian source !!!444!!!. Three of the four them also tested positive for that same substance.
DVBBS canceled their performance at Sziget Festival as a result.
[Update: 02:56 CEST]:
DVBBS responded to a request for comment from Hungarian publication, Index. Here is the translation provided by Dancing Astronaut:
“We are shocked that some attendees of the Balaton Festival (sic) were victims of events which got them hospitalized. Police asked our cooperation for the investigation and of course we did what we could. Police confirmed there isn’t any link between us and what happened, that’s why we took off a couple of hours later to our next gig in ibiza. There is another case going on independently from this in connection with marijuana and we gladly answer all questions regarding this and help the police to solve the case. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Alex and Chris (DVBBS).”
Police quoted in the !!!444!!! report indicated the opposite. When asked if the cases appeared related, they said, “Yes, it sure does”.
This is a developing story. Please stay tuned for updates.

[Update 9:00 CEST]
Now according to the !!!444!!!, 6 girls went back stage with duo DVBBS, and 3 were found unconscious, compared to the 2 reported earlier. One was seriously ill, and the three that were found with them ran away prior to an ambulance arrival. The three unconscious girls were taken to the hospital, but Windy Geza, festival health care director claimed none needed any serious medical intervention.
The DJ duo, in addition to two other traveling with them were caught by police at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport soon after the girls were found. In their possession were items related to marijuana. Three were arrested for a failed drug scan and one as a witness to drug taking. Though interrogated, they have been set on bail or released since then.
It is uncertain whether or not Hungarian Police believe the events to be related, but regardless the men may be facing jail sentences for drug possession due to Hungary’s strict drug laws.
This is a developing story. Please stay tuned for updates.
