W&W & Hardwell & Lil Jon – Live The Night [Mainstage Music]
Three years ago, rumors of a third W&W and Hardwell collaboration swirled. Now confirmed, the three Dutchmen have a trilogy: “Jumper,” “Don’t Stop The Madness” and now “Live The Night”.
The producers linked up with American rapper Lil Jon, as they only recently unveiled a vocal version of the song. This marks their second collaboration with a prominent rapper, as Fatman Scoop provided the vocals to “Don’t Stop The Madness”. The first play of the “Live The Night” instrumental mix came from W&W at the Ministry of Sound in December 2010. The vocal version debuted during Hardwell‘s set at the Revealed Miami event at Nikki Beach.
“Live The Night” starts off with a bit of homage to Swedish House Mafia‘s “One”. They use that same style of cutting a loop until it works as its own synth. Next, W&W and Hardwell thicken up the sound with some extra fat big-room synths. Lil Jon introduces himself with passionate lyrics over the extended buildup. His section takes place where the Mightyfools‘ “Footrocker” vocal was in the live edit. The same melody from the breakdown is revitalized in the drop, with a massive bassline joining the party. Three years later, this track is just as massive and well worth the wait.
