Kryder – Selecta (Chocolate Puma Edit) [Spinnin’ Records]
You can never count out dance music’s veterans, as Kryder and Chocolate Puma prove with “Selecta”.
The original producer and editors respectively, each has an impressive résumé under their belts to this point. Kryder, of course, runs the Sosumi Records label and will debut his Cartel imprint with Tom Staar this month. Chocolate Puma have hits under many names, most recently “Space Sheep” with Oliver Heldens back in May.
If you want some bass, you are in the right place (non-intentional rhyme, I promise). This song really brings a strong fusion of the styles that have made both artists successful. It’s really a combination of Kryder‘s groove sound with Chocolate Puma‘s recent future house adventure. The bassline on “Selecta” is absolutely massive. It’s that kind of sound that rattles your ribs when you stand next to the subwoofer at your favorite festival. Meanwhile, Kryder and Chocolate Puma build on top of that with slick organ synths. When you put it all together, “Selecta” is a bass-heavy hit set to dominate the summer festival scene.
