Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – Stay A While [Smash The House]

Another summer, and another big single for Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Last year, it was “Higher Place,” and now we have “Stay A While”.

This track is a huge change of pace for the Tomorrowland residents, abandoning big-room for mellow house vibes. The duo also demonstrates they cannot be held to one style, as they also released a big-room track titled “Melody” with Steve Aoki and Ummet Ozcan earlier this year. “Stay A While” was introduced to fans as part of the Tomorrowland Brasil aftermovie.

You may be wondering who the vocalist is, and the answer is in the title. That’s right, the voice you hear is that of Michael Thivaios, aka Like Mike. His is voice actually perfect for the 120 BPM breakdown, which has a chill and tropical feel to it. The instrumental is minimal, allowing the focus to lie on the vocals. He hits the chorus, and the instrumental springs to life with lively piano sounds. The drop is far from “Wakanda” and other bangers, opting instead for a future house-styled bassline and an exotic lead sound. Whether on the radio or in a DJ set, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have found another way to make a hit.
