Zatox – Sunlight [July 4 – Mainstage Music]
As W&W expand their musical boundaries, their Mainstage Music label follows suit.
They have now thrown their hat into the hardstyle arena with this next release from Zatox. The same label that sponsored Headhunterz‘s transition to electro house in 2014 now welcomes pure hardstyle in “Sunlight”. W&W debuted this high-energy track back in March at Ultra Miami, and plan to release it on July 4.
“Sunlight” feels like it is a bit of a hybrid of genres. The tempo screams hardstyle, while the composition screams big-room. Zatox uncorks one of the most dynamic melodies of the year so far, using percussion and FX dexterously. Next, he includes a vocal that gives the track its title. The vocal masks the transition to the buildup, where more massive sounds await the listener. The bass kick on the drop might be one of the largest ever, but is paired with 2013 big-room style pluck sounds. The clash of sounds is an awesome idea from Zatox, and shows his expertise across genre lines. “Sunlight” will be a high-tempo favorite all summer long.
