Saturday Spotlight 004: Spinnin’ Sessions 163 Guest: Kristian Nairn
This week for Saturday Spotlight 004 we have Spinnin’ Sessions 163. They have brought out Kristian Nairn as a guest on the mix. This is a really nice remix this week, bringing out some progressive, deep, calm, and heavy. To start us off we have an A-Trak remix to “Cry (Just A Little)“. This one has a nice dance groove to it, keeping its constant energy. We get into a deeper mood with the brand new track, “Easy” by Florian Paetzold, but it still keeps the essence of groove in the mix. A little later we have a Kris Kross Amsterdam remix to “Going Down” that has a great bass and vocal melody. Kryder follows with a remix to ” Someone Who Needs Me“, a track with a strong piano creating the energy. HI-LO brings us down to a deep level with a remix to “Go“. This is definitely a change up for the mix but it doesn’t stray from the already felt vibe. But then we get even harder with Bali Bandits, who bring out “Toink“, a track with a hard but energetic bass.
Now Kristian Nairn comes on for the guest part of the mix. If you don’t know him well as a DJ, you might know him from Game of Thrones. He drops “Orange” by Tru Fonix, which is a deep track with some great and different sounding synths thrown in there. Then “Banger” comes on continuing the great vibe of his songs. Kristian is definitely taking us on a bass ride right now, but he really brings out the big guns with “Solid Block“. He ends with “Mistery Ocean“, a nice low tack that isn’t too intense.
Overall my favorite song of the mix is “Escape From Love“, which is a hit from the Spotify Top 100. I love the vocal chop put into the drop, and the depth of the music put into that song. This is a great new mix on Spinnin’ Sessions and Kristian Nairn did a great job. Check out Spinnin’ Sessions 163 now and check back next week for our mix of the week!
