Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna – This Is What You Came For (Remixes)
The second collaboration between Calvin Harris and Rihanna, “This Is What You Came For,” now has an impressive remix pack.
The tag-team of Brit and Barbadian enlisted three different remixes on an EP that also featured the extended mix. The remixes come from Dillon Francis, R3hab x Henry Fong and Grandtheft. All three are fantastic, and you really cannot go wrong in choosing a favorite.
The Dillon Francis remix shows off the sheer production prowess he has. He keeps Rihanna‘s vocals unchanged, as well as her vocal riff on the drop. However, he opts for a completely different vibe. A higher tempo is matched with a thundering bassline and Rihanna‘s original vocal riff to create an incredible new sound.
The second remix is an electro house banger from R3hab and Henry Fong. For the fans who thought the original was too light, here’s the solution. They keep the energy that comes from the house tempo, but select a wild electro sound for the build and drops. They chop up vocals in a unique way from the original, and use a thick bassline for a brand-new type of banger.
Grandtheft rounds out the remix EP in the third slot. He also remixed Calvin Harris‘ “Summer” alongside Diplo last year. His remix follows his tried-and-true formula with a bass-heavy and melodic trap sound. He is the only one to ditch vocal chops entirely in his drops, choosing to use a fully instrumental sound over a pounding bassline.
All three remixes for “This Is What You Came For” are available on iTunes and Spotify.
