Pitchback – Cosmic Dark [Revealed Recordings]
When the Internet thinks your track is a Hardwell and Headhunterz collaboration, you know you’re off to a good start.
That is the kind of pedigree that Dutch duo Pitchback was held to starting earlier this year. Hardwell debuted their track “Cosmic Dark” at Ultra earlier this year, and there was much speculation as to the artists responsible. In case you’re not sure which ID I’m referring to, Hardwell played “Cosmic Dark” with Linkin Park‘s “In The End” acapella.
The duo said on Facebook that the track was inspired by hardstyle, and that is obvious. The growling synth choices are a fantastic choice, and are fierce at the house tempo. The melody hits hard from all angles, and Pitchback keep the breakdown dynamic with well-placed percussion. Listen up for how well the duo did with the FX in the buildup, as the transition is seamless. The drop on this one is sizable, with a monstrous bass kick showing no mercy. That bassline pairs perfectly with more razor-sharp synth work to make “Cosmic Dark” a big-room weapon to be reckoned with. For Pitchback, this track marks a huge success on their résumé.
