NRSK & Adam Tjäder – Tension [Powerkat Recordings]

Shanahan‘s Powerkat Recordings imprint has been one of the strongest free download labels in the game. His belief in names that you may not recognize pays off with a plethora of quality tracks, and that trend certainly continues with this next release from NRSK and Adam Tjäder. Previous tracks on the label were grouped into the groovy house sphere, but “Tension” is a thoroughbred progressive house piece. Starting with just a mellow bed of synths, NRKS and Adam Tjäder build the sound up over time in a beautiful way. They add a manipulated vocal chop to create a melody later on in the breakdown, which is something that shows the advanced skills of the producers. “Tension” is able to add some tension to the sound with a slightly longer than usual buildup, comprised of perfectly placed percussion. NRSK and Adam Tjäder then let the track explode into life at the drop with a beautiful top line paired next to a dynamic bassline.
