Headhunterz & KSHMR – Dharma [June 27 – Spinnin’ Records]
The time has come for two of the biggest names in big room house to collaborate, and the result is nothing short of colossal. Those names are no stranger to even a casual dance music fans, as the stylings of Headhunterz and KSHMR have finally collided. A collaboration between these two has long been hinted at, but is now confirmed in the form of “Dharma”. Headhunterz was recently on Spinnin’ Records, as he worked with Skytech on “Kundalini”. KSHMR recently released a mesmerizing, 12-track EP by the name of The Lion Across The Field via the very same label. “Dharma” was recently unveiled by Headhunterz at a show in Italy, and has since made the rounds on popular DJ radioshows. “Dharma” will be out on June 27.
Both Headhunterz and KSHMR have been making concerted efforts to work different cultural aspects into their tracks. The track title is an example, as “Dharma” is an important concept in both the Buddhist and Hindu religions. Those influences continue in just about every aspect of the track, from the vocals to the instrumentation. The breakdown kicks off with a vibrant melody paired with energetic chants to top it all off. The producers did a fantastic job of layering the melody, as there is enough sound to give you that full-bodied feel. All of the sounds fade down as the build brings the drop closer. The drop brings the strengths of both Headhunterz and KSHMR to life, as heavy bass, strong chords, and a percussive-style topline really pull “Dharma” together.
