Curbi – Triple Six [Musical Freedom]
For the second time ever, a Curbi release has been categorized by Beatport as electro house. No, his style has not changed, but has evolved to be a bit harder and deserving of that categorization. That sound really started on his previous single, “51,” and has continued as he moves to Musical Freedom with “Triple Six”. It might be going a bit to far to consider this track as hardstyle mixed with future house, but there are elements to it that would certainly point to that combination. You can hear both genres’ influences right away in the introduction, as the kick Curbi chose really has some extra power to it. The sub-bass around it screams future house at the same time, and both elements make appearances as “Triple Six” moves forward. The first breakdown is all about building hype, as the main element is a synth that is constantly going up in pitch. The drop that comes next brings a steady dose of heavy bass and a high-pitched synth sequence. It’s also interesting to note the pitched kicks that Curbi included. The middle melody is like the older Curbi music, with a mesmerizing melody. After that, it’s right back into another round of heavy bass as Curbi finishes up “Triple Six”.
