Bingo Players Bring Bingo Beach to NYC on June 18
New York City is always home to impressive concert options, and the outdoor dance music show selection this summer is off to a great start. With Electric Daisy Carnival in the rear-view mirror, the focus now shifts to Governors Island, and their impressive slate of summer shows. The first is headlined by Bingo Players as they bring their Bingo Beach concept to New York City on June 18. The event takes place at Governors Club on the island, where a previous Bingo Beach event was hosted back in 2013. This show is put on in partnership with the charity Fuck Cancer, which aims to support the prevention and early detection of the devastating disease. Supporting Bingo Players on the line up will be Quintino, Jenaux, Cheat Codes, and special guests Bassjackers.
Bingo Players are no stranger to even the casual dance music fan, as essential hits like “Rattle” and “Out Of My Mind” transcend the current trends in dance music. After the tragic loss of his partner to cancer, Paul Bäumer, Maarten Hoogstraten has continued the Bingo Players name with great pride, and has proclaimed that “Bingo Players will always be plural”.
Quintino has proven to be a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to his style as both a DJ and producer. He has dabbled in just about every style recently, especially on his “Go Harder EP” that was released in partnership with Spinnin’ Premium. Expect his set to bring powerful sounds, but also some diversity in genre.
Jenaux is where things get really funky on this lineup. All of his stuff has that smooth and sexy vibe to it, and he easily has one of the more unique sounds in the industry. His nu-disco feel will definitely allow him to stand out amongst the other electro DJs on this lineup.
Cheat Codes is a trio that is pretty new to the dance music scene, but certainly has made a big impact in a short period of time. You’ve definitely heard their track “Sex” with Kris Kross Amsterdam before, and their future house influenced sound brings a lighter sound to this grouping.
Last, but certainly not least, are the special guests: Bassjackers. The duo of stay-at-home producer Ralph van Hilst and touring DJ Marlon Flohr have gained a huge reputation for their unforgiving big-room sound, and that explains their invitation to perform from Bingo Players. Expect incredible amounts of bass, and massive sounds from them.
